What is Healing Centered Engagement (HCE)?
Developed by Flourish Agenda, Inc., Healing Centered Engagement (HCE) is a culturally rooted approach that provides a strength-based focus for individuals and communities to collaborate to promote healing and sustainability. It aims to improve interpersonal connections, transform practices and shape the norms and values of institutions. HCE provides youth, adults, community-based organizations, families, and the community with the tools to address trauma, enhance well-being, and create conditions for healthy achievement.
How Do We Begin?
To begin implementing HCE, it is important to understand that change does not require starting over. Instead, HCE empowers us to collectively create the conditions for healing.
The Four Pivots anchor our use of the CARMA principles, allowing us to cultivate deeper and more meaningful connections as we think, act, and work together.
Lens to Mirror: Encourages us to shift our focus
Transactional to Transformative: Deepens our connections
Problem to Possibility: Encourages us to dream and create
Hustle to Flow: Learning to be present and focused in-the-moment
What Are the Principles of HCE?
These principles provide a comprehensive framework that empowers us to shift our perceptions and foster healing across every facet of our lives.
Culture connects us to who we are
Agency helps us act and make choices
Relationships creates deep connectedness
Meaning allows us to explores our “why”
Aspirations fuels our imagination
